Oopiri

Story :

After scoring two big blockbusters in the form of Manam and Soggade Chinni Nayana, Nagarjuna is waiting to score a hat-trick with an emotional movie like Oopiri. And with his role limited to a wheel-chair for whole time in the film, there are doubts as to how people will receive it. Here goes the review for you.

The CONTENT:

Vikramadithya aka Vikram (Nagarjuna) is a paraplegic and hes looking forward to appoint a care-taker. Sreenu (Karthi) is just released from prison on four months parole and he has to prove himself a good guy to get Court quash the remaining sentence. Sreenu attends an interview at Vikrams place and gets selected. Initially he likes the riches but as the story progresses he identifies the problems of Vikram, without knowing that his own life also has a set of problems. What did Sreenu do to help Vikram, and how did Vikram found out what Sreenus mother (Jayasudha) and family, and how he solved Sreenus problems, is the rest of story.

Analysis :

The EFFORT:

On-Screen:

Nagarjuna just gives a big blow by accepting to take up this paraplegic role. In the whole film, he has to emote only with his face, and he does that well. At times those who saw original French film Intouchables may feel that Nagarjuna didnt do justice, but still hes the best of lot we have.

Karthi is a show-stealer and he just makes us sit back and watch every frame with fun. His attitude, body language and Telugu diction (own dubbing) are a revelation we shouldnt miss. Tamanna is there to fill screen with beautiful color of her skin and she does that part. And her own dubbing is more impressive than her beautiful looks. Prakash Raj is adequate in a small role, while Jayasudha and Tanikella Bharani did their part well.

Off-Screen:

Director Vamsi Paidipally made sure that he will extend the fun in original film in Telugu style, but he made sure that every frame of Intouchables is replicated as it is. Other than adding a new backstory for Nagarjunas character which lasts for 5 mins and another back story for Karthis sister, rest are all the same, same frame and fun. But the way he avoided punch dialogues and rhyming satires (compared with his previous films) is good.

Biggest pillar for the film is background score given by Gopi Sundar. He made some scenes sound more emotional than the original with his fantastic violin and strings work. Visuals by PS Vinod are top notch, while some patch-work done by another cameraman (looking at the credit, additional photography in starting titles will make us understand this) is not matching.

Rest of the technical departments have done a decent job. PVP once again spent well on each and every scene to get the feel perfectly.

TeluguOne Perspective :

The PLUSES:

Nagarjuna

Karthi

First Half

The MINUSES:

Dragged second half

Unwanted masala songs

BREAKDOWN:

By the time it became official that Vamsi Paidipallys Oopiri is loosely based on Intouchables, many Urban audiences made sure that they watch that French film in advance. And they did. But Vamsi did a good job in staying true to original though he spoiled a little in second half.

Movie starts on a funny note with Karthi introduced as Sreenu and how he does at interview to impress Nagarjuna. Tamanna always filled the screen as an eye candy. And the funny ride, fun conversations between Nag and Karthi, the Painting episode add more happiness to the film. Nag character not accepting the happiness and Karthi worried about his mother at the backend, provided the emotional banking for the film. What happens to these characters in later actually form the second half of the film. (This is almost pre-climax in the original film).

Welcome to second half, where Telugu touch is totally evident. A trip to Paris to create some fun moments, a chase scene and a reunion scene are forcibly inserted. Though chase scene matches to the emotion in a way, other scenes sound pretty boring. Also bringing another foreign girl (Angelica) for a 2-day dating thing and other stuff just tests our patience. But when the movie switches to family episode again, it creates nice interest. Without fights, villains, satires, slapping and heroics, the film manages to satisfy our hearts and wet our eyes for sure.

Totally it is Karthis show most of the time in keeping the film engaged while Nagarjuna is also a treat to watch. Bored of routine crime comedies, bored of over-intelligent heroes with all powers on earth to pip villains to pulp and bored of lecture-giving-films, audiences will love to watch Oopiri in Summer. Despite its flaws in second half, the film could really satisfy all sections of audiences.

Final words: Watch and feel happiness in your Oopiri

Savitri

Story :

Known for selectively picking scripts, Nara Rohith is giving back to back releases these days. With his last film Tuntari missing the mark, he has now pinned hopes on Savitri, which released today. Let us see how the film is.

The CONTENT:

Savitri (Nanditha) grows up with the only dream of getting married. She loves marriage. After making sure that her sister (Dhanya Balakrishnan) will not elope such that her big-fat-wedding will not get ruined, Savitri takes train to Shirdi along with her granma (Ramaprabha) and an assistant. During this journey Rishi (Nara Rohith) will impress her but she is not willing to go against parents wishes. Also Savitri is not ready to miss the big-fat-wedding as she has to elope and marry at a temple in case if she loves this guy. Understanding this, Rishi comes to her hometown to convince her parents. What happens then, when the family rejects him, is the rest of story!!

Analysis :

The EFFORT:

On-Screen:

Picking up a mass character needs huge energy to deliver the right punch and that momentum is missing highly in Nara Rohith. Whether it is an emotional scene, fight or a comedy scene, he just stands still and delivers his lines. Thats where we feel disconnected. With people in media over rating him, seems like Rohith has forgotten the fact that he should act well to impress audiences all the item.

Nanditha is the perfect show stealer with her cute looks, bubbly acting and cheerful mood. If given some perfect roles, probably she could easily deliver goods. However, directors have to make sure that they extract drama for her. Savitri has stellar cast like Ravi Babu, Murali Sharma, Ajay, Jeeva, Vennela Kishore and none of these characters have a perfect ending neither they help pushing the story.

Posani and Prabhas Sreenu helped bring laughs, while Madhu and Sreemukhis episode is also hilarious. Others like Dhanya Balakrishnan, Satyam Rajesh, Madhu, Swamy Ra Ra Satya have done their part, but failed to bring heavy laughs.

Off-Screen:

Director Pavan Sadineni picked huge star-cast, but while coming to the shoot, it seems like he has missed to carry script papers with him. Though he wanted to try something new, first of all he failed to extract brilliant and energetic performance from all the actors. Next point is, there is no proper screenplay written to narrate the film interestingly. Most of the second half went flat due to this. Also Krishna Chaitanyas dialogues havent helped him much.

Shravans background score is good, but his songs failed to create impact. Not even one song is there which we could come out humming from theatre. Vasanths cinematography is good at parts. Production values incorporated by producers are nice and we could see it all over.

TeluguOne Perspective :

The PLUSES:

First half fun

Few comedy scenes

The MINUSES:

Rohiths poor performance

Dragged Predictable second half

Poor songs

BREAKDOWN:

There are times where we have seen hero-heroine meeting in a train and then second half going like popular genre Sreenu Vytla House Comedy. And with the arrival of horror comedies these days, people have stopped making Vytla genre films. But here comes Pawan Sadineni, re-introducing us to the forgotten genre in which even Vytla is failing to make films these days.

A kid having a special dream related to love-marriage or big-fat-wedding is not a new thing and this routine drama opens the film. But Nandithas timed comedy along with Swamy Ra Ra Satya brings much fun. On their way to Shirdi in a train, she catches up with Nara Rohith and they miss train. Hey, recently weve seen this in Venkatadri Express know? And then an eloping couple will meet them, seek their help and hero helps them. This is also from Venkatadri Express only. For interval fight, how to attract fans and movie lovers? Add Balayyas film songs to the background music and create Gabbar Singh Antyakshari kind of environment. Done. But bringing impact from such scenes is not that easy. Interval.

For second half, what is the better way than to limit the movie to a house of heroine in a village? Thats what the manual written by Sreenu Vytla and Kona Venkat suggests, and our director followed it. From here, audience are the winners as they could easily guess whats going to be next scene. A forced villain for the sake of fights, forced house comedy for the sake of making audience laughs and forced situations for songs force us to enjoy the film by nailing ourselves to seats. Finally the film ends on routine note, with known dialogues.

To take mass roles, wearing a rough beard isnt enough. Nara Rohith should understand that. And to pull emotional stories, he has to work hard on his acting and body language. Director Pavan Sadineni proved that he could narrate a story well in 15 minutes, but elongating the same story to 120 minutes will not make a feature film. Layering a story with multiple plot points needs a touch of magic and that is purely missing here. Savitri is such type of film where you think everything is there, but not ordered, numbered and aligned. Let Savitri arrive on TV, why rushing to theatres in hot Summer?

Final words: Savitri, a misfired mixed biryani

The Anushree Experiments

Story :

For people obsessed with watching those different-type-films, Los Angeles based Telugu director Aparna Malladi gives that Indie-looking film which has its content to speak big sans any songs. Here comes The Anushree Experiments, a typical English-Telugu movie that deals with the universal problem of a girl born in any Telugu household.

Triple integral and Transport Phenomena

The CONTENT:

Anushree Sharma (Ulrika Krishnamurthy) is a typical Telugu girl studying engineering and feeling tough to understand subjects like Triple Integral and Transport Phenomena. When shes struggling to cope up with them, her father (Ramakrishna Meka) and mother (Aparna Malladi) decide to get her married. When Anushree tries to deliberately destruct these plans, her father house arrests her, after which she takes up a fast inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. What happens to this journey of self discovery, understanding, little nuances of Telugu families and the outlook of parents towards their kids is the rest of film.

Analysis :

The EFFORT:

On-Screen:

Ulrika Krishnamurthy who played the lead is a revelation. Her comic expressions, innocence and confused look supports the characterisation written by director. Anitha Kalathara who played Anushrees sister in the film is a terrific actor for sure. She plays the perfect jealous sister who finally learns the touch of life through sisters books.

Ramakrishna Meka and Aparna Malladi as parents of the girl play it perfect. Ramakrishnas experience as a TV actor got him wear the perfect shoes of a caring, responsible and yet confused father. Other actors like the one who played grandma and professor, add the much needed contrast to this lighter vein comedy. Rest of the actors are adequate.

Off-Screen:

Director-writer Aparna Malladi picked up very interesting and quintessential story. Her protagonist is that girl we see in every family, who thinks of making it big in life but gets her ambitions suppressed by those parents who wants to get her married at an age of 21.That typical indie film-making style she adapted will make film an interesting watch. Especially her idea of heroine eating guavas all the time and water leaking from an overhead tank are the true symbolisms of how life progresses, halts, takes turns and spins a surprise.

Eeshwar Yellumahantys cinematography suits the mood of the film, but it could have been better even though budget provided for him is little low. Background score given by Tomas Peire is good and imparts the feel of watching a film-festival standard movie.

TeluguOne Perspective :

The PLUSES:

Anushrees characterisation

Real-life centric emotions

The MINUSES:

Little drag before pre-climax

BREAKDOWN:

The Anushree Experiments is not such a film we watch often in Telugu theatres. The film makes urban audiences (as the film is in English throughout, only urban audience will feel connected to it) understand the emotions of both kids and parents.

On a whole, director Aparna Malladi addressed the problem of 80% Indian girls, whose middle-class parents always think about getting married to an eligible guy when she reaches 21 or finishes her graduation. The way this film explained how girls want to become that eligible guy themselves, but not end up marrying an eligible guy is beautiful and heart-touching. Tollywood always says, we need fresh blood, out of box stories and soul lifting treats if you are for it, then here is the film for you.

Final words: A beautiful experiment

Sardaar Gabbar Singh

Story :

Sardaar Gabbar Singh Movie Review : The Most Awaited Pawan Kalyan SGS Movie Review. The Sardaar Gabbar Singh Movie Expectations are Gigantic. Lets check out Sardaar Gabbar Singh Review : It took 3 years for Pawan Kalyan to come up with a proper film after lots of dillydallying. And with the kind of promotion everyone has made, surely Sardaar Gabbar Singh carried much hype than the makers actually wanted to create. Chiranjeevi and Pawans speeches at audio launch, Pawans special interviews to media houses from Bollywood have all pushed the hype to maximum. Is the film living up to it?

The CONTENT:

Sardaar Gabbar Singh (Pawan) is transferred from Hyderabad to border villager Rattanpur where dreaded Raja Bhairav Singh (Sherad Khelkar) happens to be ruthless ruler of the land who is exploiting villages for the sake of mines beneath them. In the same village, there is Maharaja Sansthan whose lone successor Princess Arshi (Kajal Agarwal) is waiting for someone to rescue her troubled palace. After disturbing Bhairavs business, Sardaar disturbs his personal life too by falling in love with Arshi. So, what happens to this Sardaar-Arshi clash is rest of the film.

Analysis :

The EFFORT:

On-Screen:

What to say about Pawan Kalyan? His mannerism, charm and presence itself creates exciting energy in each scene. Though there is no depth in many scenes, Pawans comedy timing and one-man-show are impressive. Also the way he imitated Chirus dance steps and few of his big brothers expressions is amazing to watch. However, slowly Pawan is also becoming another Rajnikanth in the process.

Kajal fits the role well as a princess, but there is no emotional depth for her character. She just flashes her navel and waist in each scene, whether needed or not. In songs, she looked pale and sounded like nearing retirement. Sherad Khelkar as a villain is impressive and no doubt he is here to stay. Alis comedy punches didnt worked, so is Brahmi who has misfired once again. Mukesh Rushi is okay. Other Jabardasth gang comedian, noted faces like Jil villain Kabir Singh are just there on screen, but not even uttered a dialogue.

Off-Screen:

Story-Screenplay writer Pawan Kalyan made sure that he will deliver the same Gabbar Singh with a new backdrop. Sardaar coming to a new town, shocking goons with his muscle and gun power, teasing a beautiful heroine, villain trying to marry that heroine, a dancing-sequence (read antyakshari scene) are all similar to Gabbar Singh. After writing the story for nearly three years, is this what Pawan wrote? Oh my God, its tough to believe. Had he watched Gabbar Singh DVD once, this story could be written in just 1 day.

One fails to understand what did director KS Ravindra (Bobby) understood about the films script and emotion as the whole plot sounds disjointed. In every scene, there is only Pawan visible but directors hallmark is missing. Much is expected from dialogues of Saimadhav Burra, but his gun fired like a Diwali toy gun. Couple of political dialogues like Kapu kasetappudu kulam avasram ledu.. Kaani pillanu ivvalantey addochinda? are impressive. Cinematography by Arthur Wilson and Andrew is good. Devi Sri Prasads songs havent created much impact, but his background score is okay at parts.

TeluguOne Perspective :

The PLUSES:

Pawan Kalyan

Pawan Kalyan

Pawan Kalyan

The MINUSES:

Poor story

Lags in total film

Dragged second half

Failure of comedy scenes

BREAKDOWN:

Sardaar is not an unique story written by Pawan Kalyan, its the very same story what many has done including himself in Gabbar Singh. However, Pawan managed to get his character appear in each and every scene with similar charm and attention grabbing. In that process, he missed a point that a good story is needed first.

Film starts with a bang, as Sardaar is introduced in a stylish fight. But the fight itself proves that were going enjoy a masala treat from Pawan Kalyan but not anything fresh. The graph of hero is maintained too low with comedy and romance scenes in first half. That builds us an excitement that Pawan will rock in the interval with marvellous action and twists. But there is only plenty of bloodshed kind of scenes, nothing hair rising and spine chilling.

By the time second half arrives, already the villain is projected as a weak guy before hero, so what could he achieve now? Suddenly he strips Sardaar of his uniform through legal power and those scenes doesnt sound new at all. Just before the climax, Pawan has upped the graph by dancing for his brothers veena step and also the Shankardada MBBS bit. With story dented in second half, audiences will get maximum bored, but will surely wait in seats to catch Pawan performing veena step. A routine climax ends the film, also giving a hint of third sequel of the film.

While there is no brilliance in story and screenplay, there is no such talent in the direction of Bobby too. Thats clearly visible in the film. Fans might enjoy Pawans dances, shy-acting and punch dialogues but other audiences will feel difficult to pass the 163 minutes run time. Box office collection will depend on Pawans stamina, probably Summer holidays are throwing in some advantage.

Story :

After delivering three back to back films that have collected a share of 50+ crores, Stylish Star Allu Arjun is now coming up with a pure mass film under Boyapati Sreenus direction. Expectations are a high on this film due to mass factor, Boyapatis presence and all in all due to macho avatar of Bunny. Lets see how this goes.

The CONTENT:

A military returned Gana (Allu Arjun) is son of state Chief Secretary Umapathi (Tamil actor Jayaprakash) and along with his lawyer Baabai (Srikanth) he hits on goons, whenever he gets to know about ill-doings in society. At the same time, Vairam Danush (Aadi Pinisetty) is son of Chief Minister and he indulges in various scams including torturing couple of villagers in Godavari district as he wants lands to build pipelines. As situations turn, a couple commits suicide in front of MLA Ankita Reddy (Catherine Tresa) due to a rape issue. All these things are linked to Danush, and finally Gana locks horns with him. What happens then is the rest of story.

Analysis :

The EFFORT:

On-Screen:

Allu Arjun is the show stealer from first frame to last frame. His newly carved muscles, intense look, fluidic dances and hard-hitting action sequences makes anyone jaw-dropped. During couple of scenes like one particular court sequence, he just rocked with best of his performance. His new style of low-tone dialogue delivery mixed with subtle satire and punch is kick ass. Dances, we need not even discuss, as we know what he delivers.

Among the heroines, Catherina Tresa got more part in the story and her scenes where hero teases her are good. Despite playing MLA role, she showcased glamour easily. In Private Party song, her glamour is top notch. Coming to Rakul Preet, her character is calm with little dialogues. While shes eccentric in songs, pouring in her glamour, in scenes she has stolen heart only for a couple.

Aadi Pinisetty rocked as a villain with his attitude, voice and body language. Especially in some scenes that explain how he treats politicians, basing on the need he has, his performance is just rocking. Hero Srikanth as caring Baabai is very good. After a long time, Brahmi has brought good laughs. Every other actor in the scene has done commendable job.

Off-Screen:

Director Boyapati knows what he has to extract from his leading hero. Without giving any message about bloodsheds like he has done earlier (in Simha and Dammu), here he just went with the flow. But we have to agree, there is no one in Tollywood who could film high octane action sequences with such an energy like Boyapati. He has made sure that at no point he will bore audiences. The way he dealt the story without any lags is interesting.

Composer Thaman is known for his strong background score. That is his core expertise area. This time also he rocked theatres with his terrific score, deeply layered sound, well mastered Dolby Atmos and terrific effects. While couple of the movies songs sounded average when heard on radios, they are exceptional to watch on silver screen.

Cinematographer Rishi Punjabi has come up with amazing visuals for the film. Especially all the action sequences are kick ass in slow motion, while songs like Athiloka Sundari and Telusa Telusa (shot in Bolivia) are top notch. Also the way he has shot villains place and buildup shots literally has given goosebumps.

M Ratnams dialogues are superb. In every single dialogue of him, there is no rhyming, but the punch is stronger. Once again theatres just rocked with the Oora Mass dialogue.

TeluguOne Perspective :

The PLUSES:

Allu Arjun

Excellent pace of film

Thumping first half

The MINUSES:

Routine story

Predictable climax

BREAKDOWN:

Boyapati Sreenu has showcased Bunny in a new avatar, but once again he hasnt picked up any new story. However he balanced it by showcasing his hero in a rugged terrain, as a ruthless fighter with energy as his second skin.

Right from the beginning, the film has this adrenaline rushing impact on audiences as Allu Arjun stuns with his fights. Also the slow motion styled fight sequences will create a hair rising impact. After that, first half goes to entertainment mode as hero gets scolded by his father, then his teasing scenes with MLA Anita, played by Catherine Tresa, brings all the needed laughs. In between, whenever the villain Vairam Danush scenes come on screen, our heart goes pulsating. Hes simply stunning. All these powerful scenes converge to a powerful interval bang, where high adrenaline action once again gives goosebumps.

Story runs on flashback mode once second half starts, and the comedy simply clicks due to Bunnys timing and JPs reactions. Anjalis Blockbuster song is a treat, both glamour wise and also dance wise. But story takes only expected turns and logics go for a toss. A powerful villain who could kill all, but a weak heroine escapes from him? A powerful lady MLA simply decides to give up her love, for no logic? A states Chief Secretary and DGP goes mute for CMs son? (Though it happened in real life in our state itself many times, but still thats not so perfectly presented). Barring the cliches, the film reaches another power punch climax and our hero emerges as strongest of all again. Those last minute comedies with media folks sounded like watching Race Gurram, they are good.

On a whole, Bunny has decided to go for a makeover and he did it brilliantly. If he takes up a new story, then there is no possibility of getting into core (oora) mass. By executing each scene brilliantly with hyper power, Boyapati has presented a new Allu Arjun, thereby exciting mega fans. Even though there are some logicless stuff, by the time we think about them, the scene gets over. Mixed with the power of holidays, definitely this mass film is going to come up with flying colors at box office.

Final words: Perfect mass masala entertainer

Raja Cheyyi Vesthe

Story :

Young hero Nara Rohith has come up with third film for the Summer in the form of Raja Cheyyi Vesthe. Directed by newcomer Pradeep Chilukuri, the film has Nandamuri Tarakaratna playing the villain and the trailer has generated huge response. Lets see how the film is.

The CONTENT:

Manik (Tarakaratna) is a stylish looking villain who kills people in various disguises but never gets caught as he wont leave any clue. Police department (Sivaji Raja and Sashank) tries to get rid of him but fails. At the same time various people try to get rid off Manik, but go in vain. On other side, Raja Ram (Rohith) is an aspiring assistant director who has some intelligent ideas to kill villains. Chaitra (Isha Talwar) is his love interest. An anonymous director asks him to write a special climax to kill villain and gives money. Later he demands Raja to kill Manik, which otherwise he hatches plan to kill Chaitra. What will Raja do now? Who is that anonymous guy? What happens to Manik? Thats what weve to watch on silver screen.

Analysis :

The EFFORT:

On-Screen:

Nara Rohith has done another okay performance after two flop shows early this season. Somehow hes struck with routine expressions and same fatso body language. Hes unable to come out cocoon, wear shoes of character and deliver interesting stuff. Hes boring to watch.

Tarakaratna is the show stealer. He just rocked as a stylish villain. Though his frequent changing of luxury cars appears jerky, the intensity in his eyes and the way he has worn the coat of villain is awesome. At one point it appears like Tarakaratna is the hero of the film, as hes carrying the total film on his shoulders.

Isha Talwar looks beautiful, but finds it tough to maintain that expression on face. Not a convincing actor she is. Sivaji Raja in a brief Police SP role is very apt. He delivers few dialogues superbly. Rajeev Kanakala steals the show in a small role in flash back. Other actors like Srinivas Avasarala, Raghu, Sashank and others are also interesting treat to watch.

Off-Screen:

Newcomer director Pradeep Chilukuri picked up an interesting guy to play villain and a good cameraman to film the scenes very stylishly. But he has forgotten to pick up an interesting story. Weve seen this story-line umpteen times already and bored. At least his screenplay should be kick-ass and that doesnt happened.

Bhaska Samalas cinematography is interesting and he made every block look very stylish. Also the color grading (DI) should be appreciated. Sai Kartheeks background score and couple of songs have won attention, but rest just passed that way. Dialogues are good. Production values are also little higher. Action sequences would have been better.

TeluguOne Perspective :

The PLUSES:

Tarakaratna

The MINUSES:

Weak story

Poor screenplay

Unwanted songs

Huge length

BREAKDOWN:
There is a Hongkong-French film named Vengeance and most of our film makers are busy copying that story from a while. Already that film is remodelled as Oosaravelli by Vakkantam Vamsi and as Wanted by BVS Ravi. Both the films are huge flops. This director also took the same story of heroines revenge becoming heros revenge (in original it is a fathers revenge for her daughter and son-in-law death), and failed to give any new dimension to it.

Story starts with villain introduced to us in interesting frame. Tarakaratna dazzles in this role with his stylish avatar. Hes a revelation. Guess what, hes introduced to us again and again and again. Then it is introduction of hero, Nara Rohith, and hes also introduced again and again and again. Then there comes heroines introduction. So, couple of songs as well. Finally before interval, the story is revealed with a twist and by then most intelligent people in theatres expect what is going to happen in second half. Except one anadha saranalayam episode, others like fight for a puppy in slum and love episodes are weak and worrying.

Back into second half, heroine starts giving us her flash back, which should actually form as a strong anchor point. But once the story is revealed through words, who will have patience to watch it in visuals again? Why again and again? Audiences are not LKG students to be spoon fed again and again to learn a single letter. After the flash back gets over, Hero also wont get mood to kill villain. Later he changes his mind, we dont understood why, but plans to hatch the so called stylish, fierce, gruesome, powerful villain. Thats the climax!!

The same Vengeance movie, this time little more budget given to cinematographer, made the film look stylish. Had Nara Rohiths character carved out like a powerful one in the lines of Tarakaratnas role, masses would have enjoyed this routine drama. But the role appears pale, disjointed and uninterested in the film. At the end when it is revealed that hes a police officers son, people will feel sad for him. Because such sons should be more powerful, at least on silver screen. A boring first half and a spineless second half make Raja Cheyyi Veste a below-average watch.

Guess what, neither the director has given justification why Raja Cheyyi Veste became the title, nor audiences understood whats the reason behind naming the film with that title. Raja never fights, and only in the climax he lays his hand on villain. Did the films team thought that it is going to be a wonderful event ever seen by Telugu audience? Come on guys!!

Final words: Weak Raja might find tough!!

Supreme Review - Supreme Movie Review And Rating : Sai Dharam Tej Much Awaited Movie Supreme Expectations are Gigantic. Can Supreme Set the Box Office Ablaze ? Lets check out Supreme Movie Review ! Megastars nephew Saidharam Tej is looking forward to seal some back to back victories such that his position in Telugu Industry will get cemented. Running with hype due to presence of Anil Ravipudi whose debut is a hit, Supreme arrived today. Lets see how the film is.

The CONTENT:

Rich and cruel Vikram Sarkar (Kabir Duhan Singh) occupies the mighty palace like Jagruthi Foundation and thousand of acres of land being led by Saikumar. To solve the issue, Judges gives 30 days time to bring real heir and submit original documents of this trust land. Meanwhile, Balu (Saidharam) is a cab driver living happily and falls flat for police inspector Bellam Sridevi (Raashi Khanna). During his love tryst with Sridevi, Balu meets an orphan kid named Rajan. Suddenly some goons attack Balu and snatch away Rajan. What is the connection of all these guys with Vikram Sarkar and Jagruthi Trust is the rest of story.

Analysis :

The EFFORT:

On-Screen:

Saidharam Tej has becoming routine with his performance. There is nothing new in the characterisation and he looks pretty same like he is in Subramanyam For Sale and Pilla Nuvvuleni Jeevitham. Though he improved his comic timing, this time dances looked boring and fights also usual.

Rashi Khanna tried her hand at comedy, but all other comedians in the scene like Raghubabu and Vennela Kishore have dominated her. They havent given her enough chance to excel and clouded with their perfect timing. She looked glamorous in just one song and other songs have just passed. Satyam Rajesh brought few laughs, while JP and Raghu also clicked. Its 30 years Prithvi and Prabhas Seenu, who clicked in Pataas earlier together, has brought huge laughs now as Tom and Cruise. Posani and Srinivas Reddy as Sannayi brothers brought few more laughs.

Racegurram fame villain, Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan has dominated the show in second half with his superb comedy timing and body language. Jil fame Kabir Duhan Singh looked stylish but didnt had much scenes to perform.

Off-Screen:

Director Anil Ravipudi made sure that he will come up with comedy sequences exactly equal to the ones he penned for Pataas. Though he balanced the comedy by emulating each of Pataas scenes here, whats missing is the story. How come a beaten to death story like finding the real heir of a big palace for the sake of people sounds new? In a bid to deliver hit, Pataas director got good comedy scenes, but nice performances and logically impressive scenes are missing.

Sai Srirams cinematography is a treat to watch but it lacked continuity in many scenes. Sai Kartheeks background score is good but songs are not interesting. Only the remix song composed by Raj-Koti Andam Hindolam stood top pick of the film. All other departments have done okay.

TeluguOne Perspective :

The PLUSES:

First half comedy

Andam Hindolam song

The MINUSES:

Weak story

Not so clicking songs

Boring second half

Silly and simple climax

BREAKDOWN:

If one film clicks, then there will be many films following that pattern. Here in Supreme, director Anil Ravipudi himself followed the pattern of his debut film Pataas all the time. There is heroine teasing episode in Pataas, the same is here. Hilarious comedy track of Prithvi and Prabhas Seenu is there in Pataas, and similar one in Supreme too. A special comedy scene with mothers is there in Pataas second half and similarly we have a hide-n-seek game scene in Supreme second half. A remix song there, a remix song here. But a blockbuster result there, and it may not repeat here. Why? How? Who? Where? !?@#?

Actually the film starts on interesting note, yet again, with a pretty known setup of a rich goon grabbing the lands of a trust. And when film shifts to cab driver Balu, one expects some fireworks. But his Death Race movie inspired car and the way he beats anyone to nuts if they honk on the back of his car arent convincing. Neither the special song with Pataas heroine Shruti Sodhi is likeable. This routine story makes us laugh only when Bellam Sridevi and her family takes centre stage. Those scenes have brought the roof down. And the kid who has done Rajan role stole the whole show. But with expected twists like goons coming to snatch away kid, interval turns sloppy.

Post interval, the film has turned boring due to routine scenes. Also the whole film turning like a chasing the kidnappers/goon kind of setup hasnt evinced any interest. Some comedy pieces blown by Posani and Srinivas Reddy brought few laughs, but the scenes are not convincing. And then, our hero rescuing the kid and the whole problems of him sounded cliche. There are some scenes like the kid blowing horn and in a flash back episode where the kid holds Indias flag, that are really mind blowing. But after boring audiences for a long time, these small energy shots wont help much. What brought full energy in the house back is Andam Hindolam song and the visuals of Megastar Chiru from Bruce Lee and Pawan from Sardaar. And the fight of handicapped body builders is kick ass. But climax upsets yet again.

A cab driver going on a mission is like watching Khaleja again, but this time we have two villains instead of one and many comedy scenes to pass the plate. But the failed logics, uninteresting screenplay and cliched performances from actors created boring moments. A perfect repetition of Pataas-like frame work isnt also exciting. On a whole, the film will end up as a pretty average grosser at box office due to holidays factor.

Final words: Supreme, this is not a smooth cab!!

Story :

The most anticipated film of Mahesh Babu, Brahmotsavam has been trending online for over a week now thanks to the intense promotional activities of the film. Does it reach the expectations that it has built so far? Lets see.

A joint family is a bundle of joy. Every moment is fun and every day is a festival. But then, just like every family, this family isnt very perfect. There are misunderstandings which dare to split them up. An important member of the family dies and thats when everything take a turn. The son of the family decides to take a trip to understand his roots and that gives him strength to bring his family together.

Analysis :

Srikanth Addala loves families. Ok, we get it. And he believes that every story is about egos. Ok, we get that too. But wed say Brahmotsavam has taken it a bit too far. His take on manchitanam, manchi mata and other manchi things actually get on your nerve. Brahmotsavam is a very ambitious film. Wanting to tell so many things that nothing ends up being conveyed properly. You do not understand, for instance, why Mahesh goes on a journey to find his routes. There may be a reason, but its lost in translation. And many more elements go through the same treatment. He has a lot in his plate a lot more than he can chew and thats what makes this film an unbearable fare. It may tug your hearts at times but even for an entire family, theres too much depth, too many ideals and too much of happiness, its unreal, even in cinematic range its too unreal..

Performances:

With age, Mahesh Babu is losing his ability to express it seems. Hes losing the charm he oozed in films like Murari, Athadu and even Pokiri. Samantha and Kajal Aggarwal have equally significant roles in the film but that doesnt matter because they arent well etched. Pranitha is just there. The rest of the cast just adds colour to the huge beautiful family.

TeluguOne Perspective :

This is less of Brahmotsavam and more of BoreUtsavam.

Story :

Young hero Sumanth Aswin, son of M. S. Raju the producer stepped into the filed as a hero, through the movie Tuneega Tuneega. He also acted in the youthful movies like Anthaka Mundu Aa Tarvatha, Lovers, Chakkiligintha, Kerintha and Columbus. His movie Right Right which is the remake of Malayalam movie Ordinary, hit the theaters today. Here is the review of this movie.

Story Line:
The story mainly revolves around a bus that brings passengers up and down from Srungavarapukota to Kaviti, driver(role played by Prabhakar) and the conductor(Sumanth Ashwin) who are in charge of the bus. The relationship between the driver and the conductor is beautifully showed. The village they stay is a beautiful place and Nassar happens to live there too. Nassar brings up the daughter of his friend along with his son. There is another boy who lives in Nassars home along with them.

The hero falls in love with a girl(Pooja Jhaveri) who travels in the bus in which the hero is the conductor. On the other hand, Nassar has in his mind, to get his friends daughter to get married to his son itself. The other man in the house who is madly in love with the girl in Nassars house gets frustrated with this.

In between, the sudden death of Nassars son leads to chaos. How and why did Nassars son die? What connection does it make between the bus driver Prabhakar, Conductor Sumanth, and the death is the twist in the tale.

Analysis :

Roles and performances:
Sumanth Ashwin, the young hero has delivered a fair justice to his role. He seems to be very handsome and also has given his best. He appears cute in the role of a conductor. Prabhakar who was immensely praised for his nefarious role in Baahubali as Kaalakeya has attempted a very different genre. This is definitely a very good attempt by him. The bondage between Prabhakar and Sumanth Ashwin is beautifully showed.

Heroine Pooja Zhaveri who stepped into the industry through Bham Bholenath is the heroine. Her role is not much highlighted. Within the very limited role, she has done a fair job.

As usual, Nassars role is the key role in this movie. He has done justice to his role to the fullest. All the other actors Vinodh, Thagubothu Ramesh, Dhanraj, Jeeva, Bharath Reddy and Shakalaka Shankar etc. justified their roles too.

Technical Aspects:
The movie seems to be monotonous, with no freshness. Every scene appears to be a drag and fails to captivate. There is no proper plot and directorial flaws are evident in every scene. Shekar V. Joseph who is in charge of cinematography has not worked up to the expectations. Editing by S.B.Uddhav is one of the biggest flaws in the movie. The music by JB failed to sync with the story and the dialogues are not conveying.

Plus Points:
Nassars acting
Prabhakar and Sumanth Ashwins roles
Shakalaka Shankars comedy.

Minus Points:
Boring screenplay
No sync between the music and storyline
Weak narration which fails to excite
Poor editing
No so promising production values.

TeluguOne Perspective :

A poor remake of a super hit movie. A very bad attempt by the team. It is a mere wastage of talent (Nassar, Prabhakar, Sumanth Ashwin). Fails to impress the viewers in all the ways.

Story :

Buoyed by two back-to-back hits, hero Nani has been in a swing. The movie Gentleman hit the theaters today and here is the first day-first show Gentleman Review and Gentleman Rating of this romantic thriller movie Nanis Gentleman, which was directed by Mohana Krishna Indraganti. The promos, trailers, and posters hinted that Nani would be seen in a dual role in which one of the roles is to have a nefarious side.

Story Line:

The movie opens with both the heroines in a flight, getting introduced to each other and start a conversation. Catherine (role played by Nivetha Thomas) starts narrating her love story Aishwarya (Surabhi). She tells Aishwarya about her boyfriend Gautham (Nani). The story is quite gripping. The songs pre-interval are very well picturized and the music by Mani Sharma goes in sync with the story streak. The story hits interval with a heavy twist.

Well, Catherine suspects Aishwaryas fiance Jai (also played by Nani) and her suspicion is carried with investigating little sequences and here the story gets interesting. Vennela Kishore gets introduced as an IT Company employee. Srinivas Avasarala is an integral part of the whole story. The suspense sequences are well placed.

After a series of investigations, the real plot of the movie comes.
The second half is lags a little bit and the murder investigation slows down the narration of the story. But, the twists are engaging. Revealing the real face of Nani closes the movie.

Analysis :

Nani, as usually, has justified the role by hundred percent. In the role of a nefarious person, his expression and delivery are captivating. Especially, when Jai dies, he was so engaging. Surabhi was so beautiful and she justified her role well.
Nivetha Thomass performance is of the highlights of this movie. She looks oomph in the songs and even in the serious scenes, she has delivered her best. Sree Mukhis role as a reporter was well done. Srinivas Avasarala has got a full length, strong and serious role in this flick. His villainy role was well performed. All the other actors have done justification for their roles.

Technical Aspects:
Mohana Krishna Indraganti seems to have mastered the art of direction well in this movie. The sequences of suspense elements are well placed. The Screenplay is quite captivating and interwoven. Romance, comedy, and suspense are equally balanced. Second half fails to maintain the appeal, as it lacks commercial elements. There is a drag in the chase sequences, as it reveals the plot even before the flow. The Cinematography was handled by P.G. Vinda, while the Editing was carried out by Marthand K. Venkatesh. Cameras rich capture of the lens is evident in the songs. Kodaikanals locations are so appealing in a song. All the song locations give pleasant appeal. Music by Mani Sharma is one of the biggest assets for the movie. The songs and back score are so much in sync with the movie.

TeluguOne Perspective :

Plus Points:
Nanis acting
Engaging storyline
Proper timings in the twists
Nivetha Thomass action
Mani Sharmas music.

Minus points:
A little drag in second half
No proper establishment of the side roles.

Verdict:
A good thriller movie with an engaging storyline. All the commercial elements well balanced. Cinematography, the productions values, editing etc. are promising. Nani has got another feather into his hat with this movie. His brilliance in delivering two shades of a person is to be appreciated. Nivetha Thomas is to get good praises. The director has succeeded in keeping the audience engaged.

The whole story runs behind their love, the problems they face, the barriers they come across.

Analysis :

:
Oka Manasu, being a debut for Niharika Konidela, she has done justice for her role as Sandhya. Niharika seems to have done a good job in the romantic and sentimental scenes. Niharika is seen in a girl-next-door kind look, wearing sarees and traditional dresses. Naga Shourya appears in a matured role in this flick. Being branded as a lover-boy, Naga Shourya proved that he is capable of carrying matured roles too.

Rao Ramesh, as usual, was one of those fine actors who bring in the whole appeal of the story. His dialogues were well received at the theaters.

TeluguOne Perspective :

The story was penned by the director Rama Raju himself. Though the first half was dragged so much, the story is definitely connective to the audience. The Cinematography was too good. The locations, visuals were appealing. Music by Sunil Kashyap was unveiled earlier, and the impact

Why did Gopi change his mind suddenly? What about Vasu-Suchis love? Go watch in the theaters..

Analysis :

Roles and performances:
Chandini Chowdary, who entertained us with her short films has appeared in the title role in this movie Kundanapu Bomma. Despite her charming face and beautiful looks, her acting needs a lot of improvement. Her action in sentimental scenes, where she had to cry, were mediocre. She failed to live up to the expectations. Sudheer Varma has done a fair job. He tried to justify his role well. Sudhakar who appeared in the negative shade stole the show. He was good at acting. Rajeev Kanakala and Naagineedu justified their roles well. Anchor Jhansis comedy was like a test for the viewers patience.

Technical Aspects:
Both the story and the narration has got nothing fresh to serve the audience. Nothing seems to have worked out well in the story narration. Director Vara Mullapudi failed to be up to the mark. Trying to copy the other directors, Vara failed to show anything fresh.

TeluguOne Perspective :

It is a great disappointment for the viewers, who go to the theaters with an expectation as the title seems to be appealing. Clumsy narration, lack of clarity in the story are the major drawbacks. Do not go by the title, as the movie is in no way matching it.

Rojulu Marayi

Story :

Rojulu Marayi is one of the well-promoted movies of the season. The story of the movie penned by Maruthi Dasari, the movie is produced by Dil Raju. Tejaswini, Krithika, Chethan, and Parwatheesham in the lead roles the movie hit the theaters today. Heres the review of the movie:

Story Line:

Rambha is the role played by Tejaswini and Aadhya is the role played by Kruthika. Rambha and Aadhya are the two friends who stay is the same hostel. Both of them trap two guys in their love, just to encash them. Peter(Pavatisham) and Aswad(Chetan) are unaware of the fact that Aadhya and Rambha were cheating them. Having other love interests, they maintain Peter and Aswad only to use them for money.

Aadhya and Rambha who are shocked by this, plan to marry Peter and Aswad as it wouldnt matter for them even if both of them die. What happens next is, where the twist in the tale comes.

Analysis :

Roles and Performances:

Parvateesham was one of the show stealers. His humor in the first half of the movie was too good. In a typical slang of language, he made a laugh riot in the first half. Aswad seems to be very naive, as he was seen in a confused state. His action was a mediocre overall.

Tejaswini Madivada looks very cute and her role was well justified. She performed very well in the comedy scenes with Parvatheesham. Kruthika nearly justified her role. She needs a lot of improvement in her acting.

Technical Aspects:

There is nothing special in the direction. Murali Krishna the director of the movie failed to prove his directional skills. It was merely a normal execution. Music composed by JB did not show may impact on the narration. The songs were just like some remixes from the other albums. The story by Maruti was not at all captivating. Dialogues by Ravi Varma N were very trendy.

TeluguOne Perspective :

The movie was mediocre as there is nothing fresh in the story. It seems to be like a new version of the story in which there are two confused pairs. Trying to drag off the whole story with online trends did work,at some point in the movie. Though the first half was a little entertaining, the next half was a mere test for the patience of the audience.
